Herein I follow the example of St. Augustine, who was, among other things, the first and almost the only one who determined to be subject to the Holy Scripture alone, and independent of the books of all the fathers and saints. [16]

Cf. Ep. 82:1,3; MPL 33: 277; CSEL 34:354:
„I have learned to yield this respect and honor only to the books of Scripture which are now called ´canonical`: of these alone do I most firmly believe that the authors were completely free from error.“

@Konrad Kugler

@Konrad,

@KM:
1.
Meiner Meinung nach glaubte Thomas von Aquin, wie der Reformator Martin Luther:
Nur die Bibel ist unfehlbar.

@Thomas von Aquin,

@Markus Jesgarz,

2. In dem Beitrag: Countdown to Reformation Day: Responding to Objections to Sola Scriptura von Kenneth Richard Samples am 15. Juni 2017 https://www.whitehorseinn.org/2017/06/countdown-to-reformation-day-responding-to-objections-to-sola-scriptura/#top7 steht unter „Response:“ zu „Objection #5:“: 1. Other historical theologians, such as Reinhold Seeberg and J. N. D. Kelly, cite a number of early church fathers as believing Scripture to be the absolute authority as a doctrinal norm. (Reinhold Seeberg, Text-book of the History of Doctrines, vol. 1, History of Doctrines in the Ancient Church (Grand Rapids: Baker,1964), 358; J. N. D. Kelly, Early Christian Doctrine (San Francisco: Harper, 1978), 42-43.) Debates over the exact relationship between Scripture and church tradition took place long before the… Weiterlesen »

Proof Inerrancy Is Historical / Biblical
von „Defending Inerrancy“
http://defendinginerrancy.com/historical-evidence-for-inerrancy/
steht unter „The Church Fathers“
unter „The Patristic View Of The Bible“
in den Zeilen 2-6 die Aussage:
„The Church Fathers believed that the Bible is the infallible rule for faith.
It is absolutely true in all its utterances, since it is given by God Himself.
The Bible is harmonious, containing no contradictions;
and it has absolute divine authority.
This applies to all the historical statements of Scripture
as well as the spiritual and moral truths.“
Folgende Kirchenväter werden mit unterstützenden Zitaten genannt:
1. Clement of Rome (A. D. 30—100)
2. Justin Martyr (A. D. 100—165)
3. Irenaeus (Second Century A. D.)
4. Tertullian (A. D. 160—220)
5. Origen (A. D. 184/185—254/255)
6. Clement of Alexandria (A.D. 150—215)

1. In dem Beitrag: Does The Bible Have Errors? von Norman L. Geisler http://defendinginerrancy.com/does-the-bible-have-errors/ steht unter Lecture Notes: Here are three reasons the Bible cannot err: (1) God the Father; (2) God the Son; (3) God the Holy Spirit.  1.  unter Reason #1: God the Father Logical syllogism: God cannot err. The Bible is the Word of God. Therefore, the Bible cannot err.  2.  unter Reason #2: God the Son Logical Syllogism: Whatever Jesus affirmed as true is true. Jesus affirmed the Bible is the Word of God. Therefore, it is true that the Bible is the Word of God.  3.  unter Reason #3: God the Holy Spirit Logical Syllogism: The Spirit of truth cannot utter error. The Bible is the word spoken by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the Bible cannot err. 2.  In dem Beitrag von „John Ankerberg Show“:  Are the skeptics right… Weiterlesen »
